So, what have you got to say for yourself? Post your comments, reminisces, or just say “hi” to someone you used to know!

Please enjoy the Bulletin Board -- have fun, take that walk down memory lane, get reacquainted and don't say anything about anybody you wouldn't want said about yourself (in public, anyway). Before you send anything, please review it to see whether it is respectful and responsible. The views on the Bulletin Board are those of the person who posted it and not the alumni of Edison or Edison High School as a whole, so we do not allow anonymous postings.

And remember, please, keep it clean!

6/29/2004 Phil West Regardless of what we each remember, I think the fact that we all shared a common intersection in time and space is what makes this bulletin board so inviting and enjoyable to read.

Most of my memories still make me laugh out loud.

Does anybody remember freshman Wood Shop with Mr. Monji? It was required that you square up a 6”x 4” x 1” block with hand tools before you could go onto the other projects. Mr. Monji would inspect it with his square holding the block up to the light as he slowly checked each side. It always seemed that just as he got to the last side he would spot some imperfection and say in a very drawn out voice, “bad news”. Some of the poor guys in that class had to try so many times that the block eventually was only the size of a sugar cube.

In my senior year the Physics class had a contest/project to design a small container to protect an egg dropped from the HB police helicopter. One of the guys competing worked at KFC part-time and his idea was to put his egg in a mini bucket of mashed potatoes. I can still remember the thing impacting and the mash potatoes literally mushrooming straight back up about 20ft.

I really appreciate the job many of our teachers did. My two favorites were Mrs. Klahr who taught Math and especially Mr. Kutcherousky who taught Machine Shop. Anybody know what happened to either Mrs. Klahr or Mr. Kutcherousky?
6/30/2004 Phil West Vito, you triggered some more memories……I had completely forgotten how Mr. Kutcherousky would always say, “You’re going to have to work for a living or marry a rich girl.” He also would always preface his statements by saying, “Gosh, darn it people” which made him sound a bit like some naïve Howdy Doody character, but in fact I think he was a lot more street wise than we gave him credit for. As an example of that, I remember once Mr. Kutcherousky got called into the VP’s office one day because a lot of students were making what Mr.Kutcherousky thought were bubble pipes. The VP tossed him one of these pipes and asked him what he thought. He told us he unscrewed the stem and said to the VP, “Nice job on the threads”. I actually think he knew exactly what was going on but was glad to see the students learning marketable machining skills.

We could do what other sites do and make this as long and painful to read as possible, get a bunch of lawyers involved and find the most obscure English words possible, but why?
