So, what have you got to say for yourself? Post your comments, reminisces, or just say “hi” to someone you used to know!

Please enjoy the Bulletin Board -- have fun, take that walk down memory lane, get reacquainted and don't say anything about anybody you wouldn't want said about yourself (in public, anyway). Before you send anything, please review it to see whether it is respectful and responsible. The views on the Bulletin Board are those of the person who posted it and not the alumni of Edison or Edison High School as a whole, so we do not allow anonymous postings.

And remember, please, keep it clean!

Date Email From Who (click name) Bulletin
5/25/2004

Scott Wojahn Hello to everyone. I am officially logging in with greetings. The site and bulletin board have been a blast to explore. Thanks to all involved. I wasn't sure about contributing, but seeing your names and reading your stories have warmed me. And someone teaching in the EHS english department did their job well, because some of the writing is transporting me!

Thanks to those who've sent an email. I am living in West LA, married (2nd time) for 14 years, two daughters, and loving how everything has turned out. It's a contented, quiet life: I work with Roger writing music for TV commercials, my ofc is about 2 miles from home. I get to work with many of my musical heroes and wear shorts every day.

I wasn't a surfer (didn't dig getting up that early) but still love the beach. We spend many weekend days at Ocean Park 'cause it's close. Our family moved to HB in 1962 and I attended Eader. It seems like yesterday that I was hanging out with Rick Purnell, Jerry, Candy, Lori, Nick Guinan and Tommy Box (what happened to those two?) and everybody from our tract. My memories of Dwyer include, Mr. Lent, cutting people down (physically) when they were standing on the hill looking out toward PCH, girls getting to wear hose, the Balch family, and hearing "Magic Carpet Ride" for the first time at an outdoor dance. Then Gisler was built and many of us left Dwyer. Then Edison: driver's ed with Ammon, who'd secretly push the "kill" button when the driver wasn't looking, Otey and the choral dept, summer musicals, renaissance faires, Joe the cop pulling me out of class to tell me that my little 2-cylinder Honda car had been moved from student parking to the pit near the snack bar by a bunch of football players, sock hops with live musicians (what was the band that only played Allman Bros?) and then Roger and I having our own apt during senior year, 'cause our parents moved back East. Hey Kevin, don't you still owe me for some back rent?

Anyway, great years, and it's nice to think back. I'll see you at the party.

peace,
scott

Scott Wojahn Does anyone have info on the whereabouts of Richard (Dick) Otey? I know a group of former students threw a retirement bash/concert for him a few years ago and i heard he was living near La Canada. Please post here or email me if you can help.

peace,

Scott Wojahn I found Mr. Otey and we spoke last night. I think he'll be joining us at the party.

Scott Wojahn Hi to JD and Mike! It'll be great to see you both. I own 2 suits but wouldn't recognize myself in either one, since I never wear them. Still, no one else will recognize me anyway . . . will Joe the Cop be monitoring our dress at the entrance?

Scott Wojahn Had to chime in with the crowd of gratitude-filled middle-agers. I enjoyed myself to the nth degree and only wished for time to slow so as to be able to hang on and on with all of you. Many thanks to the committee for the hours of work and for the website. If we need to set up a subscription service to cover Glenn's monitoring, count me in.

It's wonderful to know that after all these years, we appreciate each other for the simple, caring friendships that were hatched so long ago.

Thanks to Adrienne for the great ice-breaker. Sorry about the egg thing, Jerry. It's just that you surfer guys look so damn good, yikes! The gals, too. Mary Stanford - would love to hear from you. Re: a backrub, if you fly in from Australia and have jet lag . . . . or not, I'm glad to oblige. Julie Gillespie, I kept looking for you to no avail . . . and yes, I too failed the Debbie Jacobsen "Who am I without my nametag" test. But in the end, I wouldn't have missed it for the world and I raise my tequila glass high and say "Go us!"

peace to all,
s

We could do what other sites do and make this as long and painful to read as possible, get a bunch of lawyers involved and find the most obscure English words possible, but why?

It all comes down to: the only ones who see all of your info are the committee members. And we’re only trying to get you to come party with us. We promise not to sell your home address, your email address, your name or likeness to ANYONE.

Now renting you out for nefarious purposes…. Well, we haven’t gotten any offers yet, but we’ll hold our options open for now. Check back later.
